Ngorongoro and Serengeti - a set on Flickr

Yo, Legion of Fans (LOF), I'm back, in what some call civilisation (rainy Sydney).

I'm already missing Africa and I'm looking forward to getting back in May for my next tour (there are still places available, by the way. Email me asap at tonyparknews (at) gmail (dot) com if you'd like to go to South Africa's magnificent Kruger National Park and Cape Town with me. Hurry, bookings close March 31).

In the meantime, to whet your appetite for all things African, here are maningi/hobos/stacks of pics from my recent trip to Tanzania...

(Warning: there are a few quite confronting pics in this set of a pair of hyenas taking down and devouring a wildebeest. Hyenas have suffered from bad press over the years, but, as I saw first-hand, they are expert hunters - and their kids are cute when they're little. Like Elton says, it's the circle... the circle of whatever)

Loved the zebras and flamingoes pic, as well as the giraffe against the sunset. And of course the cheetahs - lucky mum having four, who look like they might have a fighting chance of making it to adulthood?
Beautiful photos, thanks TP and welcome home - gee that seemed to go so quickly.
LOF's, just do what Ali G suggested - much better viewing without having to click your way through.

Hi all

How are you all doing down under?

We have been seeing the bad weather you are having in Australia we are a bit worried that you are all ok.
Seeing the hail the size of tennis balls with heavy winds and storms is pretty scary.

Hope everyone is well.

Hi Les,
Thank you so much for your concern but all is fine here in the Hunter Valley NSW - those bad storms were in WA on the west coast which I think is Timepilot's region (hope all is okay there with you Timepilot !).
This dozycow is eagerly awaiting the release of "The Delta" & hoping to be able to make TP's safari in September to see your wonderful country for myself.....
Cheers

Hope you can make it in September.

rains in WA, Qld, Hunter valley [Dozy does rain dances that work],& frigging Sydney but as usual not ever enough here in central tablelands NSW. so the drought is still in vogue around here. had some while in SA but it's drying out again..bugger it!
never mind we don't get upset and complain...[bites tongue]
AND... if I may say so....you will love DELTA...

It's all in the boots Ali g, for a successful Rain Dance it's all in the boots....

As for The Delta - all I can say is August is most eagerly awaited !

PS: I'm really hoping I can make it in September too Les !!
