Check this... a cheque from the Czechs!

More good news, I'm afraid.

My very good friends at Pan Macmillan have informed me that all three of my books so far published (or should that be published so far?) - 'Far Horizon', 'Zambezi' and 'African Sky' are to be translated into Czech and published in the Czech Republic.

Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is one of my favourite cities in the world.

Mrs Blog and I had a particularly memorable New Years Eve there when we were young people. We were working in England at the time, and although we were living below the poverty line, air fares were very cheap, so we flew to Berlin and caught a train to Prague.

We had a memorable time. The night before NYE we slept in a dorm full of other backpackers. For some reason some of them were very restless during the night and there didn't appear to be much sleep going on.

NYE itself was, well, a bit like a warzone populated with drunken friendly people. Bungers (crackers, fireworks, depending on where you're from) were exploding in train stations and alleys, while sky rockets were whizzing around the main square near the clock tower at ankle height. You had to jump into the air every few minutes to avoid becoming a casualty.

All this was fuelled on fine Czech beer (some of the best in the world) and not-so-fine, but very cheap Russian champagne.

If I can get my scanner working again I'll post a pic here of two very drunk, very young Australians in Prague.
