Tony on tour.... gulp

Tour dates nearly ready to be released for my whistle-stop-round-parts-of-Australia tour, in order to shamelessly promote the release of my new pirate book, IVORY, post August 1.

Good news is... South Australia is definitely in (after being missed-out last year), as is NSW (of course), Qld (limited stops), and WA (lots of stops), but Victoria.... Well, let us just say, "Trin, do you have any frequent flyer points saved up?"

Pity Victria's missing out this time. Could it be all those nasty rumours about swine 'flu?

Incidentally, have finished my review of Ivory and posted it in The Bookcase.

Can be seen here http://crookedpaw-thebookcase.blogspot.com/ if you're interested.

No I don't have any bloody frequent flyer points saved up. All I can say is if you can go on board a ship that is certified as being a swine carrier, sorry I mean a swine flu carrier, then surely you can brave a flight to Victoria in August, when it will be all done and did. Flu is flu. How many people get flu each year and how many people die from complications of flu. This swine flu is being treated like it's the Black Death. And it is children who are most affected, not adults who have a better developed immune system.

I feel a bit like Les must feel when everyone starts to talk about how bad Jo-burg is!!

Cheap flights to Brisbane at the moment, so depending on when and where you'll be at - maybe, maybe not!!!

Am I Miffed??? YES!! Might have to search for more Frank Coates books.

Crookpaw you sly canine... I thought you were joking in an earlier comment when you said you were reading IVORY...

Did your good lady get hold of a proof copy???????

(NB other readers... Crookedpaw's better half works in a bookstore and they sometimes get advance copies of new books in the proof form - ie before the actual print run...)

Thanks for the review.

Trin. Start collecting names for the petition - we'll force Macmillan into sending me south of the border.

The swine flu's in Victoria probably because you're all Mexicans down there.

I must confess, yes, my lady's bookstore did get a proof copy and because I was obviously a fan, it came to me for "staff" review.

Actually, Zambezi - the first of your books I ever read - was also a proof copy.

Very well, Crookedpaw,,, but in lieu of contributing to my royalties I want to see a nice big shelf talker under IVORY when it makes it to S's shop.

I feel for you Trin -not fair at all !! You definitely should start a petition.

Got to go now & check out Crookedpaw's review.......

Has anyone noticed an absence of Ali G's (often humorous) "words of wisdom"
these last few weeks ? They are sorely missed.

Tony, you'll get a shelf talker under Ivory, but I'll still be buying a copy anyway. Hopefully, next time you're in town, you can sign it for me.

Still here Doz.. was keeping the chardonnay in the freezer & ended up with wine flu.
Been keeping low as haven't wanted to be deported to Victoria.

<^..^>

Happy to see you're still with us Ali & hope you're over the wine flu. Maybe you should try a nice, cold, crisp Sauvignon Blanc for a change ?
I'm also partial to a soft Merlot & a good book in front of the fire on these cold nights, however nothing beats a glass (or three) of Amarula Cream to warm one up.

If you visit Camden and Campbelltown library you can arrive in style in a 2a LR. Only thing is, I've fried the injector pump and it's dead in the workshop awaiting a 750 pound [sterling] replacement from the UK!

Amarula Cream yum! I now think I should go the the bottle store and get some. Good thought Dozycow
Les said…
Trin maybe you should but some Amarula Cream to drown your sorrows but it will cost you a fortune to drown those responsible, and be a waste of good alcohol.

Heidihi: I need to go to the store too, my bottle is nearing it's end sadly & needs replacing. I have a Marula Liqueur from one of the local vineyards which is quite nice but nowhere near as smooth & creamy as the original.

Les is right Trin, you should buy/steal/aquire a bottle, however you can, but it is far too nice a drink to waste.....

Les & Dozy,

In that case I might just go out to the garage and get the methylated spirits!

Thanks guys
Les said…
Jeez....you going to burn them ??
dozycow said…
Les....Isn't that what's known as a "hot" idea ??
Could be scary...
Les said…
Dozy, it must be a hot idea because it is certainly not burning love, Trin wants blood definitely scary.
Les said…
Trin & Dozy, Joey is getting very worried, please leave the meths and Amarula rather use Old Brown Sherry,it is a cheaper idea and not scary at all.
dozycow said…
Les, how about Port instead of Sherry ? Much more preferable, especially now the Amarula bottle is dry....please tell Joey not to worry.

Les & Dozy,

No I wasn't going to burn anything. There was no grog in the house and it was 7am (no shops open). Meth is a nice substitute for grog when there is no alternative to hand - or so I've been told!

I DID manage to partially drown my sorrows over the weekend, over a bottle of bacardi and a Frank Coates book, so on a more optimistic note - who lives in Victoria and would join the seemingly impossible objective of a National Park week so that Vic. is not left out?
